About the Artist

Jess has never considered herself an activist; instead, she has always believed in the power of art to connect, heal, and uplift. As a woman of colour navigating a predominantly white society, art has always been her home. Whether through music, sketching, or painting, it is where she finds her voice, her sense of calm, and connection with others.

So, why wall art for homes?

At the end of the day, we all need a place to relax, reset, and feel truly at home. For many people, “home” can be a tricky concept to define. That’s why Jess started CurlCreative— an ongoing series of artworks featuring everyday girls with curls, words of motivation & matching abstract pieces to add a pop of colour to your space. The pieces aim to create a sense of calm, healing, and inspiration at home, no matter where you are or where you are from. Enjoy!

“I want my artwork to do more than just add colour to peoples’ walls; I want it to spark moments of reflection, joy, and connection. My illustrations aim to highlight the universal experiences of calm, healing, and resilience—particularly for Black, Indigenous, and women of colour—showing that we all share these human moments, even if they’re not always portrayed that way. Ultimately, I hope to foster a more inclusive, uplifting narrative that celebrates everyone, no matter who they are or where they are from.”
